Social-Emotional Learning

We are committed to creating an environment for all students, staff, and families that is safe, kind, collaborative, respectful, and engaging.

Together
3Rs

The SEL Team helps support Oakwood's 3Rs - Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Build Relationships. The district-wide initiative was reintroduced at Oakwood Schools in the 2024-2025 school year. We teach, review, and promote general ways our students can live the 3Rs in our classrooms and in our community.

SEL envisions a school district that promotes self-awareness, positive and supportive relationships, compassion and empathy for others, and responsible decision making with the goal of preparing and empowering our students to become resilient, reflective learners who positively contribute to their classrooms and society.

Handle With Care

Send a Handle With Care if your child needs extra support, patience, or help after a difficult weekend, evening, or morning or if your family is experiencing difficulties at home.  The SEL team would like to provide additional support at school and, with your permission, will update your child’s educational team.

Ohio Safety Center, Speak Up Save Lives

Oakwood Schools is partnering with the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety to provide an anonymous tip line that could prevent a school safety crisis. Calls and text to the tip line, 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764), are answered 24 hours a day by trained professionals who can help.

If you see something or have concerns, say something.  Don't wait until it's too late.

Hope Squad

Hope Squad is a school-based peer-to-peer support program that empowers students to recognize and support their peers who may be struggling with mental health challenges.

At Oakwood Schools, our Hope Squad members are trained to connect students with trusted adults and resources, fostering a culture of kindness, understanding, and hope.

For more information about the national organization, please visit Hope Squad's website.
