Orchestra begins in the elementary schools at 6th grade. Students can continue in Junior High. The 7th and 8th grade orchestras rehearse and perform separately, which allows for more individualized attention and appropriate difficulty in repertoire for each grade. In high school, there is the Concert Orchestra for students in grades 9-12 and the Symphony Orchestra for students in grades 10-12. The Symphony Orchestra plays with the Senior High Wind Ensemble to give the students a full orchestra experience. In addition, there are audition-based Honors Orchestras for more serious musicians in both the Junior and Senior High. The Pit Orchestra for the spring musical is also offered to grades 9-12.
Jordan Millard is the Orchestra Director as of August 2017. You can read more about Mr. Millard here.
