STATE OF THE SCHOOLS

Going Farther Together

The 2024 State of the Schools was a momentous event held at the Board of Education meeting on February 12, 2024. Superintendent Dr. Neil Gupta, Ed.D. highlighted the hard work, dedication and many accomplishments throughout the Oakwood School District. He also drew attention to areas Oakwood Schools need to focus on collectively in the future.

Community members, teachers, staff, students and beyond are encouraged to explore the topics covered in the 2024 State of the Schools address. Watch the videos below to learn more about our #OneOakwood journey.

QUALITY PROFILE

We are pleased to present the Oakwood City School District Quality Profile, which provides a year in review of highlights and accomplishments during the 2022-2023 School Year.

This Quality Profile is a supplement to the Oakwood City Schools State Report Card, which contains demographic details and results of Ohio’s State Tests. While test results are important, we believe those results alone do not fully depict what distinguishes Oakwood Schools as one of the highest-performing districts in Ohio.

Over the last few years, we have been gathering feedback from residents to determine factors they value in their child’s education and the school system that are not measured on the State Report Card. The result is a collaborative report that shares an expanded story of each participating school district.

We take pride in the value of programming and the resources available to our students. Our goal is to grow students academically and prepare students for their future, no matter where their passions may take them.

Take a look at this year's Oakwood Schools Quality Profile to see highlights of academics, fiscal stewardship, teaching and learning, the arts, athletics, facilities, safety and security, technology and innovation, and community.

Community survey

In 2024, Oakwood Schools conducted a community survey conducted by Fallon Research. The purpose of the survey was to gather baseline information in a number of key areas, including academics, finances, facilities and communication. The survey revealed a high level of satisfaction among the community with the quality of education the district offers.

The survey, which included responses from a broad cross-section of Oakwood residents, highlighted schools' critical role in the community and their positive impact on residents' decisions to live in the area. Of the 352 respondents, a vast majority specifically cited the high educational standards as a key reason for choosing Oakwood to raise their families. Eighty percent of those surveyed rated the quality of education excellent, and 78% agreed that Oakwood Schools does an excellent or fair job of preparing students for the future.
