As the Superintendent of Oakwood Schools, my first few months focused on understanding and getting to know our vibrant school community. This time of listening and learning has been pivotal in shaping a vision centered around collaborative and transparent communication. 

At the heart of our approach is the #OneOakwood initiative, symbolizing our desire to come together for our schools and students. This philosophy guides our actions and work. As we move forward, we are dedicated to enhancing every student's educational journey at Oakwood Schools. 

I am proud of our Oakwood Schools staff for their commitment, dedication, and hard work in educating and supporting each student.  I realize it will also take our parents and community to help provide the best opportunities for our students.  Therefore, it’s only fitting in this Dayton area that I share our Oakwood Schools Runway of upcoming actions that will allow us to provide clear and transparent communication as we embark on a new journey together.

In January, we’ll release our Oakwood Schools Quality Profile, a report that goes beyond the state report card by offering a transparent look at our district’s strengths and growth areas.

Also, starting in January, join me for monthly Superintendent Coffee Chats! It's a chance to ask questions, share ideas, and connect directly with district leaders.  The Chats will be held at the Oakwood Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on January 11, February 8, March 7, April 4, and May 9.

In February, we’ll launch a community-wide survey to gather your valuable insights on a diverse array of school-related topics.

And save the date for our February 12th Board Meeting and "State of the Schools" address, where we’ll celebrate our achievements and explore how we can soar even higher together!

Finally, we’ll be developing a groundbreaking Oakwood Schools Strategic Plan—with your input —to ensure every decision is aligned with student success.

I am excited for the upcoming months as an opportunity to connect with our community to inform, engage in two-way dialogue, and create a shared vision for our future.  Thank you for the opportunity to embark in this journey.  Together, we can go #FartherTogether.
