After an extensive search, Oakwood Schools is pleased to announce Amanda Brown will be joining the Oakwood School District as our new Director of Community Relations.

Amanda brings a wealth of communications experience to the Oakwood Schools. She has spent the last five and a half years of her career working for a private real estate investment firm in Dayton, Ohio. As a partner in the firm, she managed both internal, external, and investor communications. Amanda also supported the company’s non-profit arm through written and visual storytelling. Her commitment to fostering strong relationships, strategic planning, and leadership has resulted in organizational success throughout her career.

Before working in corporate communications, Amanda spent more than eight years as a television news journalist. She has covered both local and national news, fostering relationships across communities and building rapport across diverse neighborhoods. Her passion for telling impactful stories that make a difference has earned her multiple awards.

I am confident she will be an excellent addition to the team and community."

Amanda officially starts on December 18, 2023, and looks forward to meeting students, parents, staff, and community members.

Amanda's desire to foster positive relationships across our community stood out throughout the selection process. We believe her expertise will enhance our communications strategies across our entire organization and strengthen the already rich culture of Oakwood Schools.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Amanda and her family reside in Butler County, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Sports Administration.

I look forward to playing an important role in shining a light on high student achievement, the notable work of the district’s dedicated staff, and serving all members of the community.”
