Oakwood Schools proudly introduces Nathan Reiter and Debbie DiLorenzo as the newest additions to its Board of Education, coinciding with the district's School Board Recognition Month celebration. Their appointments bring fresh perspectives and experiences to contribute to Oakwood's commitment to educational excellence.

Nathan Reiter, a distinguished leader in healthcare administration and former ESOL teacher, joins with enthusiasm, emphasizing his passion for high-quality education and inclusivity within the district. “I am excited to contribute to a district that values educational excellence,” said Reiter.

Debbie DiLorenzo, who filled a vacant seat in 2022, has now been elected to the Board. A long-time Oakwood resident, Debbie's commitment to our children's growth is evident through her extensive volunteer work. “Oakwood Schools have always been a cornerstone of our community, and I’m thrilled to be part of its continuous evolution,” DiLorenzo shared.

Dr. Neil Gupta, Superintendent of Oakwood Schools, emphasized the significance of the board's role.

“Our board members' dedication and vision crucially shape our students' educational journey,” Dr. Gupta said.  “Their focus on student success is what drives our schools forward. This month, we extend our deepest gratitude for their service.”

In addition to the new appointments, the Board of Education announces key leadership roles, appointing John Wilson as President and Laura Middleton as Vice President. Lauren Kawai, a vital member since January 2022, continues to play a crucial role in the leadership team. Their combined leadership is essential for guiding our schools to achieve greater academic success and deeper community involvement.

“School board members are the voice of our community in educational decision-making. Their year-round commitment deserves our recognition and appreciation,” Dr. Gupta added. “We encourage the Oakwood community to join us in thanking them for their invaluable service.”

Serving on the Oakwood Schools Board are dedicated individuals committed to the district's vision and our students' futures. We are grateful for their service and look forward to their contributions in the coming year.
