Students from Dayton Early College Academy (DECA) in Dayton joined Oakwood High School students Thursday, March 5 in a Lit Exchange at OHS. 

As part of the Lit Exchange, students donated books and received new books in trade.  Then, during an open mic session, students shared stories, poems, songs and essays, many of which they wrote.

“Meeting students from DECA, hearing them perform their poetry, watching their peers and teachers showcase their talents, and exchanging books, the OHS Lit Exchange participants were reminded of the value of building connections through conversations, through sharing their writing and song, and through reading,” Lit Exchange Coordinator and OHS English teacher Emily Sullivan said.
