The Oakwood Schools Foundation is being honored for its efforts to enhance education for the students of Oakwood Schools.

OSF is one of five recipients of the 2021 Award for Excellence in Community Leadership from The Dayton Foundation.  The award recognizes community groups that have established committee-advised funds through The Dayton Foundation and are “affecting change by demonstrating best practices for community organizing, fundraising, collaboration and strategic planning.”

OSF, a component fund group of The Dayton Foundation since 2007, assisted the District in creating a healthy environment for students and staff to return to in-person learning in 2020 by providing a grant to install air purifiers in every classroom in the District’s five schools.

Since 1991, OSF has awarded more than $965,000 to fund teacher-proposed grants for state-of-the-art classroom technology, unique academic programs, innovative learning materials and more.
