Max and Josh Leasure

Friends, classmates and teammates of Joshua Leasure, a 2019 graduate of Oakwood High School, are invited to attend a memorial dedication and fundraising celebration in his honor Thursday, June 17 at 5:30 p.m.

Josh, who was a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps at the time of his passing earlier this year at age 20, knew from a young age he wanted to serve his country. Known for his positive attitude and work ethic in and outside the classroom, Josh earned varsity letters in football, wrestling and lacrosse, and was well-respected among his teachers, coaches and peers.

The event is being held on Josh and his twin brother Max’s 21st birthday in front of OHS, where a tree will be dedicated in his name. Attendees will have the opportunity to paint a message for Josh on rocks that will be placed around the tree.

Immediately following the ceremony, attendees are invited to a fundraising event at Milano’s located at 1834 Brown Street in Dayton. Twenty percent of sales will be generously donated by Milano’s to benefit the Josh Leasure Memorial Fund.

The fund, which was established through the Oakwood Schools Foundation, a component fund of The Dayton Foundation, will support activities and programs to enhance the experience of students and athletes in Oakwood City Schools. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Josh Leasure Memorial Fund, care of Oakwood Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 351, Oakwood, OH 45409. You also may make your donation online at https://www.daytonfoundation.org/ccgift.html. Please reference fund #8631.
