A 60-year tradition will continue as members of the Oakwood High School Speech and Debate team will once again be competing at the national level in June.  Three team members qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament at the Big Districts, a national qualifying tournament. 

Sam Stack, in Humorous Interpretation, Isabel Rubin-Alvarez, in Dramatic Interpretation, and Noah Smith, in Lincoln-Douglas debate, will represent OHS at the national event.  In addition, Marley Wiemers, Original Oratory, Janie Woods, Original Oratory, and Natalie Bridgewaters, Dramatic Interpretation, were named alternates.  Woods also earned qualification to the state event.

The state finals will be held March 3 – 6.
