Oakwood High School speech and debate team members are back from the State Tournament with a host of awards.
The 26-member team placed 11th in a field of more than 80 teams in the two days of competition.
The following students placed in competition:
- Lily Meehan and Cat Svobodny, Octafinals in Public Forum Debate (top 16 in the State)
- Michael Ritschel, Octafinals in Lincoln Douglas Debate (top 16 in the state)
- Tristan Williams, Double-octafinals in Lincoln Douglas Debate
- Janie Woods, Quarterfinals in Original Oratory
- Claudia Schnell and Emerson Davis, Quarterfinals in Duo Interpretation
- Anna Munk and Gabby Vish, Semifinals in Congress
- Marcela Strombeck, Quarterfinals in Congress
