Oakwood High School Speech and Debate finished third in a field of 18 at the Austintown Fitch Tournament held virtually from Youngstown, Ohio.
OHS had a great showing in Public Forum Debate. Lily Meehan and Clara Leach placed first, Helen McMullen and Abby Poprocki placed fifth and Katy Butler and Bella Butler placed sixth.
Bryn Cortez placed third in Informative Speaking. Alex Heid placed fourth in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking. In Original Oratory, Marley Wiemers placed sixth and in International Extemporaneous Speaking Ashley Weigand placed sixth. In Humorous Interpretation, it was Quinn MacDonald placing fourth and Sam Stack placing fifth. Jack Benbow made it to the Super Congress in Congressional Debate.
