The Oakwood High School Speech and Debate team is back in action and had the opportunity to compete in person at the Upper Arlington Invitational Saturday, Dec. 4.
The team earned second place in Team Sweeps honors with 14 students also placing in individual competition.
Three students scored top rankings. Tristan Williams placed first in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and the team of Henry Almoney and Ben Moulton placed first in Duo Interpretation.
Gabby Vish was second in Congressional Debate Chamber C and Anna Munk was second in Congressional Debate Chamber A. In Duo Interpretation, the team of Maggie Bremner and Halle O’Hara also placed second.
Third place finishers for OHS were Tess Patton and Julia Neal in Public Forum Debate and Janie Woods in Original Oratory. The team of Sebastian Roederer and Nate Pennington had a sixth place finish in Public Forum Debate. Abby Poprocki placed sixth in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Quinn MacDonald placed sixth in Humorous Interpretation.
