Oakwood Schools was notified Sunday, Nov. 22 a staff member who worked at OJH, OHS and Lange has tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member was last in attendance Thursday, Nov. 19.
After conducting an investigation with the support of Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County and following CDC guidelines, students and staff determined to have “close contact” and/or “general exposure,” to the individual who tested positive have been notified directly. Health recommendations from the CDC regarding “close contact” and “general exposure” were included in the notification.
Once completing the required quarantine period, being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and seeing an improvement in symptoms, the individual who tested positive will be cleared to return to school. Individuals determined to have “close contact” with the individual who tested positive and show no symptoms of COVID-19 will be cleared to return to school following the required quarantine period.
