Oakwood Schools was notified Thursday, March 11 a staff member who worked at Smith Elementary March 5 and OHS March 9 tested positive for COVID-19.  To protect the confidentiality of the individual, we will not be sharing additional information regarding the individual.  

After conducting an investigation with the support of Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County and following CDC guidelines, students and staff determined to have “general exposure,” to the individual who tested positive have been notified directly.  No instances of “close contact” were found.

Once completing the required quarantine period, being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and seeing an improvement in symptoms, the individual who tested positive will be cleared to return to school.
