Oakwood Schools is continuing to work with health officials at the city, state and national level to develop protocol to keep students, staff and community members safe. For information on how to keep your family safe, what to do if you have been exposed to COVID-19 additional information, visit our Health Protocol page.
To reduce close contact between students, we have established specific entrances/exits for students to use based on their grade and/or teacher. Please review this information with your students.
The following letter to the editor from Oakwood Teachers' Association President Jay Lane appeared in the Oakwood Register Aug 5, 2020.
To the Oakwood Community,
In prior editions of the Oakwood Register, two editorials asked to hear from teachers. As president of the Oakwood Teachers’ Association, I am writing this response on behalf of teachers in Oakwood schools. Since June, I have been meeting with our teachers via video conferences on a weekly basis to discuss elements of the plans for returning to work this fall. I believe all of us are experiencing some degree of anxiety or fear, some more significant than others. So, we are wrestling with what the right thing to do is like everyone else.
Oakwood Schools will follow the Ohio Department of Health order requiring face coverings for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
For additional information, please review the Oakwood Schools face covering policy.
The Student Intent form is currently closed so District staff can move forward creating class lists and finalizing schedules. If you need to change your student’s Student Intent form prior to the start of school, please contact your student’s building.
The first day of school for all Oakwood Schools' students, Option 1 and Option 2, is Aug. 24.
Make sure you are receiving all necessary communications directed to specific grades, buildings and district wide by updating your Messages account.
